In 2013, when she was just a senior in high school, Florence learned her Grandmother's Syrian string cheese recipe. She was excited about the process, which she describes as “grueling,” and proud of the final product. Cohen soon announced she was going to start Grandma’s Cheese as a tribute to the family matriarch. Within six months she was delivering homemade string cheese to some 50 local families on Friday afternoons, and the business grew from there
What is string cheese?
Originating from the Middle East, string cheese is similar to a braided mozzarella cheese. Its flavor, and ability to string apart gives it that special and unique edge.
Once strung, string cheese is usually eaten on its own, or paired with a bagel or cracker.
Our Freezer Approach
We believe frozen is fresh, therefore Florence hand paint's her own coolers and gifts them to each of our supermarkets.
